Facial Reflexology
A unique treatment developed from 3 ancient alternative therapies: Chinese Energy Meridians, Facial Acupuncture, Vietnamese and South American Indian body maps on the face.
Benefits
Facial Reflexology is a relaxing treatment, by stimulating areas or points on the face, it can have an overall relaxing effect. It is a gentle, non-invasive therapy.
What happens during treatment
The client lies fully clothed on his or her back on a massage couch.
I use a little rose oil and cream and start to massage the face with my fingers. There are 7 steps in the treatment and I use different strokes at each stage; slow circular strokes on points on the meridians; slow, firm long strokes; fast, short strokes to stimulate these areas ending the treatment with slow strokes.
Clients are usually very relaxed by the second step and often fall asleep.
Treatments last 45 minutes to an hour.
Background
Facial Reflexology was developed through many years of research by Lone Sorensen López, an internationally renown therapist through a 30 year career as a complementary therapist in Denmark and Argentina. Her research and work also took her to Cuba, France, Spain and Germany.
In Denmark Lone worked principally with children with learning and behavioural difficulties. She then spent 12 years in Argentina working with patients with brain damage and neurological problems.
