What happens during a Reflexology session?
Reflexology is given to all areas of both feet and it is based on the traditional belief that these areas in the feet correspond to areas of the body.
Reflexology is usually given on the feet, but it can also be given on the hands although initially hands are not so responsive.
I will use my thumb and fingers to apply pressure to the reflex areas of the foot. It is not painful but you may feel some tenderness on the foot. It is helpful for me to have this feedback. I will then work on these areas to help relaxation.
Reflexology usually takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour. At the first session I will take a case history and discuss any health problems.
A course of Reflexology is usually 6 or 8 sessions but patients can feel the difference after 3 sessions.
Clients will often then return for another session every 4 or 6 weeks.
